1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the website located at https://thedisabilityteacher.com (the “Site”) and/or enrolling in any of our courses, you (“you”, “User”, “Student”) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access the Site or use our services.
2. Services / Courses
(a) The Company provides online courses, training, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) including, but not limited to:
The 6-week live course “Becoming a Disability Advocate” and the monthly live sessions (Nov–May) for individuals seeking to start a business as disability advocates.
The “SS Benefits Course for Providers” for mental health and medical providers to help patients file for Social Security benefits.
(b) Payment plans are available via Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, and PayPal (available at checkout).
(c) All purchase links direct to https://thedisabilityteacher-bda1.thinkific.com/courses/becoming-a-disability-advocate (unless otherwise stated).
3. Eligibility
You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, or if younger, you have the consent of your parent or guardian to accept these Terms and use the Services. By registering for a course, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter this agreement.
4. Registration, Accounts & Access
(a) You may be required to register or create an account to access certain features of the Site or enroll in courses.
(b) You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
(c) We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms or for misuse of the Services.
5. Fees, Payment & Refunds
(a) Course fees are as published on the Site at the time you enroll. All amounts are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.
(b) Payment plans are subject to third-party terms (Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, PayPal). You must comply with the terms of the payment provider you select.
(c) We reserve the right to change fees or discontinue a course at any time, but we will honor the fee in effect at time of your registration.
6. Intellectual Property
(a) All content on the Site (including text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, course materials) is owned by or licensed to the Company and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
(b) You may access and view content for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, perform, transmit, modify, create derivative works, or otherwise exploit any of the Site materials without our prior written consent.
(c) Any unauthorized use of the Site content may result in termination of your access and may subject you to legal liability.
7. User Conduct
(a) You agree not to use the Site or Services for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.
(b) Without limitation, you agree not to:
Use the Site in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation.
Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code.
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or Service.
(c) We may moderate participation in live sessions or forums and may remove content or users who violate our policies or these Terms.
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
(a) The Services and Site are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
(b) To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
(c) Under no circumstances shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
(d) Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Company and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents and licensors from and against all losses, liabilities, claims, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use or misuse of the Site or Services; (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.
10. Cancellation, Termination & Change of Services
(a) We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms.
(b) You may cancel your participation in a course in accordance with the refund policy.
(c) We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Services (or any part thereof) at any time without liability to you, provided we give you reasonable notice when feasible.
11. Third-Party Links & Payments
(a) The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party websites.
(b) Payments for courses made through third-party payment methods (Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, PayPal) are subject to the terms and conditions of those providers. We are not responsible for disputes or issues arising directly from those providers.
12. Privacy

We collect, process and use your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
(a) These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina (or Texas if you prefer to designate your business address state) without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
(b) Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved exclusively by the state or federal courts located in [specify county, e.g., Alamance County, North Carolina], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
14. Severability & Waiver
(a) If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
(b) Our failure to enforce any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms (along with the Privacy Policy and any other legal notices posted on the Site) constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding your use of the Site and Services, superseding any prior agreements.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site or Services after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
